Oil Vs Water: Bioderma Sensibio H2O & Art Deco Eye Make Up Oil Pads

Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored.

Let me start with Bioderma Sensibio H2O- Solution Micellaire since it's the first one I've tried. I got a mini bottle as a gift. At first, I was hesitant to use it because I thought there would still be high alcohol content although it says it's H2O but I was (still am) a noob when it comes to beauty products. I didn't know it's a true blue Holy Grail item. It's mild yet powerful in removing thick eye make up. It's nice and calming to use because of that subtle scent that I really like. It claims to be fragrance free but I swear I smell something good. I honestly felt like I'm only using 100% water as it doesn't hurt my eye or anything.

I was completely satisfied until I got my hands on oil pads.

Art Deco Eye Make Up Remover Pads

I bought the Art Deco Eye Make Up Remover Pads from Php 650 down to ...wait for it... wait for it...

...one hundred freakin' pesos! WHAT-A-BARGAIN?!

Okay so I got it from Beauty Bar (as always). It contains 60 pieces of oily pads. Oil pads work wonders. They can remove seriously thick layers of eye make up and since it's oil it does moisturize my dry skin as well.

In the end, I decided to keep both of them on the "ultimate go-to" list. I use the oil pads mostly for removing night make up and for travelling to avoid spillage. The water cleanser is for regular days and it's just the perfect way to commence a much needed night time relaxation.

Exfoliate w/ H2O: Natural Aqua Gel Cure Skin Care Review

My mother and I love visiting Beauty Bar a lot. It's part of our mother-daughter bonding time. Our favorite store is the one in Harbor Point mall. It's a small branch but it is the closest to our house in the province. One holiday, I hoarded some sale items from the store while Mommy was eyeing "Japan's No.1 Exfoliant Skincare Product", Natural Aqua Gel Cure. After trying it on our skin we decided to buy and received dozens of samples with it.

Cure is known to be really effective but what makes it really special is that it's so mild and gentle. It's 90%  hydrogen water so ignore the 10%, it's water! And water is the best natural chemical substance for us humans. It's in gel form that can get rid of dead skin cells without being harsh to the skin.

Use H2O to exfoliate!

It's true that you only need to use it twice a week. Use it today and I can guarantee that you won't need it the next day unless you went for a hike or something like that. That's how good it is. This is one of those products that I couldn't say anything negative. The price is alright because  it's just a little investment for a long lasting product. 1,500 pesos for a 250g bottle isn't such a bad thing if you can use it for 4 months or so. In our case, I know it will last a year. My mom and I are sharing a bottle and it's been 5 months since we purchased it.

Who doesn't love free samples?

I gave a sample to one of my colleagues and  she reported back with a big smile on her face, not to mention a lighter and glowing skin. Oh boy, how I wish I'm a distributor. My colleague got herself a bottle after using the sample I gave her and she's just genuinely happy and fully satisfied. I was an angel for a day.

Cure is officially one of my holy grail beauty products now. Go on and snag a sample at the nearest Beauty Bar or at Sample Room!

Face Wash Hunt #1 - The Face Shop Charcoal Phyto Powder in Cleansing Foam

On A Mission!

I have been hearing good things about charcoal face wash from youtubers like LaurDIY. She repeatedly featured BiorĂ© Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser on her channel and I got really curious as charcoal I know is a good filter for water. Some people put like real chunks of charcoal inside their water bottles. There's even charcoal toothbrush available now. But on skin? I was curious. I consulted Google (who else can you trust :P) about  how on earth can charcoal cleanse our skin. Turns out an oxygen-treated charcoal can simply act like a dirt and impurities magnet. I was like, Woah! A natural face vacuum?!

Totally amused, I went to the mall for a charcoal face wash hunt. I didn't think BiorĂ©’s available in the Philippines (if it is, please let me know!). I tried to look for it at my favorite shop, Beauty Bar but charcoal infused products was not available at the time so I tried The Face Shop and I was immediately offered the Charcoal Phyto Powder in Cleansing Foam. I also got a couple of Blackhead Out Charcoal Nose Strips just to match and try the whole charcoal craze.

Side Product Review

As soon as I got home, I slapped those strips over my nose and after a few minutes, it felt tight on my skin and when removed I was grossed out which is a good sign.  And yeah, I'm not posting a photo because a. I forgot to take one and b. it's disgusting. I loved the strips and I am definitely getting a box next time.

The Face Wash Test

When it's time for me to wash my face, I excitedly squeezed out the charcoal face wash. The content is silver which I loved. #iloveprettythings!!!
The formula is nice and you only really need a pea size amount to wash your face. I have to admit though that during the first few tries it did sting my skin. I did experience breakout and I learned that it is not ideal for dry skin and my skin is more on the dry skin side. This face wash does make your skin clearer. I don't use it daily because I feel like it is too strong for my skin.

My Verdict

This product is worth a try. If you do wear a lot of makeup, USE it!  Always moisturize after wash especially with this one because it is quiet serious about cleansing. As for me, the stinging sensation doesn't happen all the time so I use it every other day. I like using it, especially after a rough day but it's not my go to face wash.  Having said that I'm still on a hunt for the face wash that suits me best, charcoal or not. ;)
